'The Dream', the story of a young girl's hopes and aspirations, was performed for primary school children at the School of Arts last week.
Performed by the Northern Rivers Performing Arts Good Foot Dance Company, the dance theatre featured Jacqueline Smith in the lead role of a young dance student preparing to sleep while contemplating her dance exams the following morning.
"She has dreams of becoming a great dancer one day and it's specifically for primary school children to engage them in the magic and illusion of live dance theatre," said the show's choreographer Michael Hennessy.
Along with Jacqueline, the performance featured Bernadette Gardiner, Cristy Kilkeary, Kirsten Lee and Mei-wah Williams on the dance company's first regional tour.
"We thoroughly enjoyed the theatre and Harry's hospitality. We'd certainly like to come back," Mr Hennessy said about the School of Arts theatre and its cultural development officer Harry Bolton.
"It's good to see there are regional theatres with first-class amenities," he said.
