Pink was well and truly in at last Thursday’s Majellan Group’s girls night in.
With many dressed in pink, the Majellan Group mothers gathered in the pink-clad Catholic Church hall with a pink-themed menu of food on offer for a night of laughs and information to help spread awareness of breast cancer.
Three group members are personally affected by breast cancer and the night’s organisers hope the information shared through events like this would help raise awareness of the disease and help the 15,700 women who are diagnosed with breast and gynaecological cancers each year.
Kim Rose said the issue was particularly important for the Majellan Group because its members are mothers, for the most part.
The group takes its name from the patron saint for mothers, Saint Gerard Majella, and aims to help out in community activities like supporting the Catholic Church, the school and generally wherever it can.
