Railway station adding to the height of history

08 Jul, 2009 02:35 PM
The Tenterfield Railway Preservation Society welcomed its latest acquisition to the railway station museum last week: a $10,000, 90 year old rail crane.

Members of the society installed the crane at the railway station on Tuesday last week and describe the 1920s machine as another rather unique piece of equipment being preserved at the museum.

The society plans to have the crane stripped down, restored and repainted in its new home after being trucked up from Port Kembla on the NSW south coast.
