Buzzer-beater routs reserves

20 Oct, 2009 04:34 PM
IT was a close game on Saturday night when the reserve grade men showed they are final contenders with a one point loss right on the full time buzzer to the undefeated Warwick team.

Jake Landers return to the squad saw him put in a excellent game with a game high of 14 points. He landed some big three pointers to get the crowd right into the game. The final score was 41-40.

The A grade team started the game really slowly and have to be more focused in future if they will beat any team on the day.

With this league so tough, and the introduction of import players, Tenterfield has attempted to get some import players as well. We were expecting two ABA players to come from Brisbane, but neither arrived. The team lost 118-49.

So five minutes before the game Tenterfield Bullets only had four players so head coach Jason had to grab two players from the reserve grade squad and do battle against a team that has not lost a game all season. Lucas Deardon played another great game for Tenterfield.

This Saturday night Tenterfield reserve grade will take on Warwick again in a rematch at 6.45pm NSW time and the A grade, with new import Nathan Wilkens, take on Stanthorpe at 8pm, this should be a great game with Tenterfield only losing to them last time by three points.

Hope to see everyone at the Memorial Hall this weekend to support your team.
