Reserves running second in league

14 Oct, 2009 01:52 PM
TENTERFIELD travelled to Gatton on the weekend for round five of the regional league competition.

The first game saw the reserve grade men pull off another great victory, beating Centenary Heights 36-25 in a rematch of last week’s game. Centenary Heights brought a couple of extra big men into this game who didn’t play the week before. The reserve grade men are now only one win away from the top of the ladder.

The new look Tenterfield Sexton and Green Bullets had a great first three quaters against the Gatton Lightning but foul trouble to Stephen Tanner and new local boy Lucas Deardan saw Tenterfield have only four players on the court for the final six minutes and the game got away from the Bullets.

The Lightning ended up 107-78 point winners. Lucas Deardan top scored with 25 points and new import Chris Hammill chiped in with 20.

This week Tenterfield reserve grade men will play top of the ladder team Warwick at 6.45pm AEDT and the Tenterfield Bullets take on the undefeated Warwick team at 8pm. Both of these quality games will be played at the Memorial hall.

Every one is welcome down to the hall for a great night of basketball action this Saturday night. Come and support your local team.
