Good defence from both sides in the first half saw the score tied at 2-all heading into the half time break.

The next 25 minutes saw Hornets attacking game come to the fore and they outplayed the dogs to win 6-3.

In the next game, the Commercial Comets played the Telegraph Rum Runners and like the first game, the defence from both teams saw a very even and hard fought contest. At the half time break, the Comets led 3-2.

Unlike the first game, this contest brought another 25-minute display of good touch football from both sides. The Comets managed to hang on to beat the Rum Runners 5-4.
