Thieves target stud animals

CATTLE thieves have hit close to home with four stud animals taken from the property “Springfield” at Mole River.

The grey brahman cow and three grey brahman heifers went missing between April and the start of June. The beasts are branded on the near-side rump with a pound sign and the number six over a bar.

Police from the New England Rural Crime Unit are keen to speak with anyone who may be able to provide information in relation to the missing stock, including those who may have been offered similar animals for private sale.

Police are also seeking information on any suspicious people or vehicles in the Mingoola and Mole River area around the time of the thefts.

The crime unit can be contacted on 6722 0530 or 0427 418 960, or via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
