LIKE most people in Tenterfield, I’m delighted with the chance to elect a new council, but a word of caution…
I have seen too many small towns go from one inept council to another simply because people are so desperate to get rid of a council that they will vote for anyone who was not on the previous council, without giving the matter careful consideration.
I follow the old Scottish tradition – listen to nothing they say, watch everything they do closely.
It’s amazing how much you can learn about people that way. You will learn their priorities, their virtues and not least their ethics.
I implore voters think carefully about your choice of council.
