The popular event was once again organised and hosted by Michael Henrysson and managed to produce an array of diverse works.
Local artist Janet White said the event was a good platform for local talent to showcase their ability.
“Artists expressed themselves using watercolour, acrylic, oils, scraperboard, clay, pastel, photography, pencil, mixed media and of course poetry,” Ms White said.
“Works ranged from tiny and exquisitely detailed to large, atmospheric and ethereal and from seriously representational to the frivolous and fun,” she said.
Helen Grant judged the artwork prior to the event and Poetry judge David Hallet had the challenge of choosing winners from the nearly 70 entries.
“Tenterfield has been underestimated and is earning its place as one of the best arts communities in the New England North West,” Helen Grant said.
Tenterfield Shire Council general manager Lotta Jackson announced the successful artists on the night.
Honourable mentions went to Louise Jenkins, Alan Rose, Linda Clutterbuck, Emily Coelli, Gay Johnson-Andersen and Janet White.
The Open Poetry Prize was awarded to Fiona Robertson-Cunninghame and the Oracles Regional Award went to Maureen Halloran.
In the arts category Sahara Bulich won the Hanger’s prize, Janet White the Minor Open Prize, Nola Sindel the Major Open Prize, Louise Jenkins the Regional Painting Prize while Linda Nye was awarded with the Tenterfield Shire Acquisition Award for her piece “Spiritual song of the Aborigine”.
The exhibition remains open until Friday, May 30.
“Take the time to visit and make your people’s choice vote for the work you like best,” Janet White said.
