TENTERFIELD Shire's Councillors will be out and about commemorating Australia's fallen at Anzac Ceremonies across the Shire this Anzac Day.

Tenterfield Shire mayor Peter Petty and RSL Sub-Branch president Dave Stewart will commence the day at 5.30am in delivering an address and laying a wreath at the Dawn Service at the Tenterfield Memorial Hall and Cemetery.
Cr Petty will travel to Legume Cemetery for a Commemorative Service at 8.00am following which he will join the Urbenville Community for their Services and events, commencing with a service at St Marks Anzac Memorial Church, Urbenville at 9.30am.
Following the Service, the March will assemble in the main street at 10.45am and proceed along Clarence Way to the Memorial Gates at the Urbenville Showground for the Service at 11.00am.
“Anzac Day is always an important event for me,” mayor Peter Petty said.
“I am honoured to assist in the remembrance of the many brave local men and women who paid the ultimate price for Australia's freedom.”
Other events in Tenterfield include the Gun Fire Breakfast at 6.30am in the Memorial Hall, the March commencing at 10.30am in Manners Street followed by the Commemorative Service at 11.00am in the Tenterfield Memorial Hall.
A luncheon will be held at the Bowling Club from 12.30pm and be followed by Two Up at the Royal Hotel from 1.30pm.
Councillor Mary Leahy will attend the Torrington Dawn Service at 5.30am.
The Drake community will hold a service at the War Memorial commencing at 6.00am, followed by breakfast in the Drake Community Hall.
Councillor Tom Peters will present a book to the Drake Primary School in lieu of laying a wreath.
A Commemorative Service will be held at 9.00am at the Liston War Memorial where councillor Gary Verri will lay a wreath.
This Service will be followed by morning tea and an Anzac Centenary Presentation at the Liston Community Hall while Deputy Mayor Brian Murray will attend the Jennings/Wallangarra Service and March, commencing at 11.30am.
A Dawn Service will also be held at the RSL Hall, Barawell Street, Wallangarra, commencing at 5.30am.
Between 2014 and 2018, Australia will celebrate the Centenary of Anzac.
With the support of grant funding, Council's Anzac Centenary Steering Committee have developed a page within council's website which provides a host of information on events and information.
Cr Petty said it was a useful and appreciated thing to have.
“Everybody should log onto Council's website and have a look at this very valuable information,” he said.
“It is a great tool for our children to begin to understand the events their forebears endured.”
