Chris Markham underwent two life changing surgeries following health complications and had to undergo operations to amputate his left leg.
The ‘One for the Boys’ benefit concert was held on Saturday, July 26 to aide Chris and Graham Wren with Quota helping organise the event.
Now on the path to walking again, Chris has had to endure hours of rehab and fork out for unexpected expenses.
A packed house got along for the concert at the School of Arts and helped in raising close to $4800 to help Chris with different costs.
“Tenterfield has been so kind – I’m overwhelmed by the generosity."

People travelled from Stanthorpe and Brisbane to attend the concert which featured musical acts Butch Smith, Felicity Lund, Miles and Mel Blum, Murray Hovey, Grant Ovenden, Welders Dog and Chris himself.
“We just loved it – I want to thank the town and the artists, nobody hesitated and it was terrific,” Grant Ovenden, who helped pull together the event, said.
Mr Markham said in their time of need the people of Tenterfield had really shown their hand.
“It was the best day of my life – I don’t think there will be a happier day.
“I buzzed for days afterwards,” he said.
Now in the midst of rehab, Chris said he was hopeful of being up and walking unaided within 12-months.
“I’m learning to walk with a stick – within a year I’ll hopefully be walking again.”
