IT’S exciting times for the Tenterfield Physical Culture Club as the group’s members refine their skills in preparation for the Zone Championships to be held in October at Coffs Harbour.

Already attending a workshop held by Casino Physical Culture Club, the Tinkerbells through to ladies have recently competed at its first interclub hosted by Moree on August 9.
“For some this was their first time ever at competing. Moree was a wonderful experience for all competitors with clubs attending from Gunnedah, Muswellbrook, Tamworth, Coonabarabran and Moree,” Jessica Gibbins from the club said.
“An array of sportsmanship and new friendships were displayed as the girls cheered for each other in support,” she said.
Results from the event were as follows: 4yrs – Addison Gibbins (Display), 6yrs open 1st Lara Condrick, 8yrs Tianna Hurtz, Olivia Butler and Grace Freeman, 9yrs open 1st Jessica Smith-O’Rourke, 3rd Aneika Rossington, Sophia Searle, 10yrs Novice 2nd Anika Mondal, Jessica Davey, 11yrs Novice 1st Abby Holley, 2nd Elizabeth Cooper, 11yrs open 2nd Chloe Hickey, 6th Shani Pitkin, 12yrs open 1st Erin Crotty, 3rd Felicity Smith, 13yrs open 2nd Kate Lee, Katelyn Reynolds, Liana Meneguzzi, 14yrs Novice 1st Dina Pelusi, 2nd year Seniors 1st Stacey Hayne, Beginner Ladies 3rd Amy Battistuzzi, Novice Ladies 3rd Jodie Condrick, Intermediate Ladies 2nd Jess Gibbins, 5th Anekia Murphy.
Runcorn Park hosted its first huge successful interclub on August 16 seeing clubs from 3 different states attending including QLD clubs Runcorn Park, Mermaid Beach, Bayside, Westside, Centenary, Strathpine, Warner Lakes and Wynnum/Manly.
NSW Clubs were from Casino, Ballina, Tenterfield as well as Victorian club Whitehorse.
“National place getters and champions were amongst the competitors at this strong interclub,” Ms Gibbins said.
“The bright future of Physie was evident in the amount of Pre-schoolers and 5-year-olds that were on display grinning from ear to ear with excitement,” she said.
Tenterfield Physie put in an enormous effort and through the support and sportsmanship displayed by all the families again did not come away empty handed.

The competitors will now continue practising for the championships coming up in Coffs Harbour.
