To ensure fairness the minimum team combined handicaps had to exceed 30 or over and this made a level platform for the players during the three-person Ambrose event.
Perfect weather greeted the 31 players, some who had travelled long distances including Casino, Bonalbo, Beaudesert, Nambucca Heads, Newcastle and our locals from Woodenbong district.
The winning trio of Ross Allwood, Phil Riley and Paul Fairbairne recorded a 55 ½ nett score.
Runners-up on count back finishing on 57 nett were Daniel Burns, Kody Martin and Ryan Shannon.
The highlight of the day was for one of the Newcastle players having the longest drive on the 4th - 20 metres short of a 328-metre-long fairway.
The committee were pleased with the day and will make this an annual event that all golfers around the Northern Rivers and Southern QLD can look forward to playing in each year.
Their thanks go to Taylor’s Mitre 10 of Woodenbong who donated some great prizes and gave their support to the event.
