While opening bowler Dan Potter is still out of the game with a hand injury, Mick Parker will be stepping in to lead the team with the ball, keen to take key wickets early.
"He is a really good, consistent fast bowler," fellow cricketer Steve Manser said.
"A lot of people don't like to face him because he has a consistent line and length."
The Strikers a still riding the high from last week’s rain-hampered victory over the Sixers.
Dave Fowler won the toss and elected to bat first, opening with the in-form Andrew O’Brien. Tidy bowling from the Sixers’ Marty Marshman had Fowler bowled early, soon followed back to the sheds by Brad Gallagher.
Geoff Swan made efforts to settle in at the crease, but a succession of big hits had him caught out for eight by Mitch Austin.
Peter Holley came to the crease and after getting his eye in, he and Andrew O’Brien controlled the innings with both men retiring for 50.
After a strong start to the season, Colin Caldwell came ready to add to his not out score from the last game, but some consistent spin and inconsistent bounce had Caldwell out for none.
Mitch Ford and Alan Donges remained not out at the end of the 25 overs, with the Strikers finishing the 25 overs, 8/166.
Steve Manser and Ben Austin opened the batting for the Sixers with a run rate of over seven required.
Austin made efforts to get some quick boundaries away, but George Little had him caught and bowled for 16.
Manser (33 runs) and Ryan Whitton (26 runs) tried to settle in at the crease, but rain interruptions made batting and bowling slippery and the boundaries dried up.
The Sixers’ Marshman (13 runs) and Dom Pelusi (4 runs) were stranded at the crease when heavy rain hit at the end of the 19th over at 3/100.
With 67 runs needed with 5 overs remaining, the Strikers were declared winners.
