The coffee table book has been filled with an array of images showcasing Tenterfield in all its glory.
From farming, history, wildlife and scenery, the book which has been put together by the Tenterfield and District Visitors Association (TDVA), lays bare the area’s natural splendour.
Project manager Lara Flanagan said it could be utilised to great effect.
“It is a sales tool for Tenterfield – it’s been amazing so far, we have had locals coming in and buying four or five to send off to people as Christmas presents,” Ms Flanagan said.
Over time, the compilation and collation became a joint effort.
“Word got around in the community and it became a real collaborative effort.” It has taken some time to get the process off the ground with notions for the book going back a few years.
“The idea is from Patti Ainsworth’s (former visitors centre co-ordinator) days here – money had been allocated from capital expenditure but for whatever reason it didn’t happen.”
Ms Flanagan said ten photographers, amateur and professional, had been involved in collecting photos for the final print.
The three-month process wasn’t simply about the book as Ms Flanagan says they’re hopeful it will help keep the visitors information centre alive.
“We wanted to create another revenue stream for the centre – people who purchase the book are helping keep our doors open,” Ms Flanagan said.
‘Beautiful Tenterfield’ can be purchased from the Tenterfield Visitors Information Centre.
