Recently home from an international championship in New Zealand, the club are going from strength to strength.
Hanshi McMahon said he couldn’t be prouder of the acknowledgement his club is receiving for their hard work.
“The team spirit is very strong – we won acclaim straight away.
“We are a bigger and stronger club today and are always looking for more new members.”
The recent championship in Capalaba, Brisbane has highlighted exactly how strong the club currently are.
A team of seven took on over 250 other competitors and brought home 22 trophies.
The team of Joseph Blackler, Muraya Horan, Alicia Smith and Jade Shearer, Robert Bridge, Cameron Donadel and Jake Gibbins all brought home individual and team honours.
Hanshi McMahon said that trophies weren’t the be all and end all of his academy.
“Its important people know that they don’t have to compete in championships to be members of the academy though.”
He said he didn’t want to place unwarranted expectations on all of his students and said the same effort and work goes into each individual regardless.
Having been competing himself since the age of nine, Hanshi McMahon said he was perfectly aware of the pressure that kids can undergo in sport.
His focus was on teaching his students as he aims to mould an “unbeatable” team.
With enrolments coming thick and fast Hanshi McMahon said he was hopeful of getting more for the New Year.
