Bronya Schoner, 38, initially pleaded not guilty at this week's trial, but later changed her plea to guilty.
She was charged with the dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm after the crash at the intersection of Whiskey Gully Rd and New England Highway.
Twelve-days prior to the incident Schoner had her licence disqualified after being found guilty of drink-driving.
She also pleaded guilty to the charge of disqualified driving and driving with methamphetamine in her system and both possessing a syringe and also a spoon and scales used in connection with a drug offence.
Methamphetamine was found in her system following the crash but it was not enough to have affected her driving the court heard.
Tenterfield woman Katie Holley was driving her mother and sister home from the Stanthorpe Show last February when their vehicle collided with Schoner's vehicle.
Katie's mother, Dianne died at the scene and her sister Samantha spent the following 10 months in and out of a coma.
Katie's dog Poppy was also killed and Samantha has been wheelchair bound since the crash.
Statements given by Katie and witnesses to the crash testified that Schoner was driving on the wrong side of the road when she crashed into the Tenterfield family's car.
A third vehicle also collided with Schoner's car.
The three occupants, Japanese tourists, received only minor injuries.
It was alleged Schoner drove for up to 18 hours before the crash, as she made her way from Victoria to the Gold Coast.
Just outside of Tenterfield, Schoner was pulled over by police and given a speeding fine.
It's unknown why police didn't apprehend her at the time for driving on a disqualified licence.
The Crown Prosecutor noted that since the incident the 38-year-old had shown no remorse for causing the death of Dianne Holley.
