The 36-year-old has pleaded not guilty to aggravated sexual assault in company and inflicting actual bodily harm, and was due to stand trial on Monday in Armidale District Court.
But the case was not reached with another trial given the go ahead and a jury empanelled before Judge Andrew Haesler on Tuesday.
The woman was also charged with affray and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company, which will carry on a certificate to be taken into account during the trial or if found guilty, any sentence.
The prosecution will allege the accused was involved in a violent attack in Deepwater on Australia Day, last year.
Much of the case has been suppressed for legal reasons but the victim was later treated in hospital before being released.
Several co-accused will also appear in Armidale District Court next month after they lodged appeals against their sentences handed down by Magistrate Karen Stafford in Glen Innes Local Court last year.
The woman will remain on bail while a new trial date is confirmed.
