Mr Guise spent some time at the pre-polling at the School of Arts this morning and reflected on his nine-month campaign.
He also used the time to spruik his party and question incumbent Lismore MP Thomas George's seriousness in running.
“I haven’t heard from him about renewables, support for farmers, it’s really all been about Lismore hospital.
“I think he has been disingenuous by running – I’d be surprised if he sees out a four-year term, he’s already bought his mansion at Lennox Head,” Mr Guise said.
Mr Guise has dubbed 2015 an “environment election” and says coal seam gas, farming and agriculture have dominated much of the discussion.
“You’ve seen over the last few weeks’ party’s racing to say they hate coal seam gas the most. It’s a credit really to what the Greens have done over the last four years.
“We’ve pushed the agenda and changed the narrative.
“The old dinosaur politics are not going to wash anymore,” he said.
With betting companies placing Mr Guise at $5 and Thomas George at $1.60, he’s realistic, yet optimistic about what Saturday will bring.
“Internal polling has Greens, Labor and Nationals at 30 per cent each. Whatever the outcome I’ll be philosophical about it.
“Whoever wins will have big shoes to fill with expectations high. There will be no room for complacency whoever wins the seat,” he said.
People in Tenterfield can cast their vote at the School of Arts from 8am-6pm on Saturday or pre-poll vote tomorrow from 9am-5pm.
