The selection process for these children commenced at school level at St Joseph's Athletic Carnival.
From there they progressed to Diocesan Trials in Tamworth and were selected to compete in the Polding Trials which involves schools from all Catholic Diocese in NSW.
Abbey and Jake travelled to Glendale, Newcastle to compete at Polding level and were selected for the Polding team to go on to the PSSA event at Homebush.
Abbey competed in the Discus and was placed eighth overall.
Jake made it to the final of the eight-year-old boy’s 100 metre sprints, finishing 7th.
“A notable achievement for a small country school. Congratulations Abbey and Jake,” St Joseph’s principal Cherie Yates said.
