The club had six members represent them at Repecharge Finals held on Saturday, October 31 in Sydney.
All six members did a fantastic job in a very strong field. Lucia Davies eight years, Jorgia Dennis nine years, Indi Brown, 10 years, Emma Branigan and Ellie Campbell and 12yrs Hannah Phelps 12yrs.
Both Ellie and Hannah were incredibly excited to make it through to the Semi-finals in their age group.
The Club had two members, Sarah Minns and Taneil Willing, represent the club at The National Ladies Finals Held on Wednesday 4th of November at Olympic Park, Homebush.
Both ladies performed particularly well with Taneil being selected into the Finals which places her in the top 15 in her section in Australia.
Teacher Rachel Sanders also judged on this night commenting that it was one of the strongest Ladies finals nights that she has seen.
The 14 junior Club members, who have been selected to compete at the Junior National finals to be held this Sunday at Olympic Park, are now working exceptionally hard.
This is the most representatives the club has ever had and all members are extremely excited for the girls.
The girls were selected after placing in the top 5 in their age group at their zone finals. They will compete against 80 other girls from all over Australia of their same age who have also placed in the top 5 in their zone. It is such an honour and experience to compete at this level.
The 14 representatives are, Taneeka Kennedy and Beth Phelps, Jayda Hill, Nicole Donnelly and Indy Murphy, Elly Petrie, Olivia Bates, Natasha Brierley, Jessica Smith-O’Rourke and Eliza O’Brien, Jemma Sutcliffe and Sianna Green, Jessica Brierley and Samantha Cox.
The club also has one senior, Annaliese O’Brien, representing the club at the prestigious National Senior finals held at the Sydney Opera House on Monday 30th November. Annaliese has been placed in the top 30 in her age section in Australia.
The Granite Belt YMCA would also like to congratulate there 2015 perpetual award winners; Attitude, Achievement and Attendance- Sophie-Rose Halliday; Most Improved- Zoe Nalder; Shining Star- Freya Creer.
