Kick-off is at 9am starting with the under 8s, progressing through the age categories to the under 16s.
This first game of the season will also be a fundraiser for Dave Gibbins, currently recovering in a Brisbane hospital following brain surgery to alleviate his early onset Parkinson disease symptoms.
“The Gibbins family are such valued members of our club,” president Peter Holley said.
“Both Dave and (wife) Jess have always helped out at working bees and with transport to away games. This is not to mention both Sam and Jake (their sons) are players of our club and need our support at this time.”
Club members will be selling raffle tickets at the home game on Saturday and plan to hold an auction later in the day at the Tenterfield Bowling Club from 6pm. To that end, the committee is seeking donations for the raffle and the auction, to make the day as successful as possible.
Contact Peter Holley on 0408 076 155 if you have anything to donate.
“It would be great to see everyone at the bowling club to support this worthwhile cause,” he said.
The bowling club restaurant will also be running meal specials to encourage a big turnout.
