As this was the first time the cross-country had been run at the showground, every winner set a new record in their age division. Those aged seven years and under ran one lap of the course (around one kilometre), the 8-10 years ran two laps and the 11 years and over ran three. Six students ran for Mingoola Public School, 13 for Jennings and 32 for Drake.
The overall point score win went to Drake Public School with a total of 193 points.
Coordinator Michael Schwetz of Jennings Public School said the schools were fairly happy with the new venue, which is more central for the schools involved.
He also expressed his appreciation for the assistance given by Tenterfield High School students for keeping the runners on-track.
