The Tenterfield Tigers had a 38-16 win over the Wallangarra Rams at Rugby League Park on Saturday, but coach Chris Battersby isn’t crowing about it.

“It wasn’t an impressive win,” he said.
“We dropped a lot of ball, and pushed a lot of passes.”
He feels the team’s been lulled into a false sense of security with easy wins over the past few matches, and the harder game against the Rams was a wake-up call.
“Full credit goes to Wallangarra, though,” he said.
He thinks the harder challenge is just what the team needed in the lead-up to the match in Inglewood this Saturday, which will be a bigger test.
Brett Battersby stood out on Saturday, earning Players’ Player and Man of the Match. Cody Tandy had a good game in mid-field and Coach Battersby said Brendon Minns played well in his position at fullback.
Priority at this week’s training, however, will be working on line speed in defence and getting off the line.
“We need more speed getting to the kick,” Battersby said.
“We also need to tough it out more, get in the grind and do the hard stuff.”
