Coach Wayne Minns said the players started off nervously, possibly due to a lack of recent match play, but soon got into a rhythm and then everything “fell into place”.
Hannah Byrnes was named Players’ Player, and Minns said Meg Landers and Jamie Scott also put in good performances.
“But when they all play well it’s hard to single out individual players,” he said.
While the team is performing well Minns said there’s always room for improvement, and fitness levels could be better.
The team has a bye this week and then take on Stanthorpe/Texas at home on Saturday, May 28. Minns said he takes each game as it comes and a lot depends on which players are available on the day, but he expects to have most of the squad on hand for that match.
“They’re sure to put on a good show for the spectators,” he said.
