The Tigers made the short journey north to take on the Rams in two grades with the ladies league tag side commencing the day’s play in perfect fashion.
The Tenterfield girls remain unrivalled in the competition, picking up yet another victory.
Tiger’s men’s coach Chris Battersby said he watched the first half and the girls were utterly dominant.
“They were quite dominant throughout what I saw,” he said.
The girls kept their opposition to nil in a perfect 24-0 win.
The A-grade fixture was slightly more difficult, yet the Tigers were still too classy as they ran out 60-12 victors.
“It was a tough and physical game. There was a bit of biff, some push and shove,” Battersby said.
“I’m really proud of the way our guys came out and stood up to them.”
Battersby said his senior players showed leadership in helping the younger members of the side.
“It was a good effort all round. I was impressed with how we defended and we looked sharp in defence.”
Brett Battersby picked up the man of the match honours while five-eighth Geoff Swan was a standout.
“He kept things calm and guided the guys around. All the boys played well actually,” he said.
They’ll need to take that form into this weekend’s clash when they welcome Inglewood to Rugby League Park.
Both sides sit on equal points in the top spot and Battersby says they will have to improve markedly from the last time the competition leaders met.
“I think they beat us out there 44-12 or 14. It was a bit of a touch up,” he concedes.
“They have a big pack and they rolled through the middle a bit.”
Battersby said the key lies in stopping their big boys in the forward line.
Stanthorpe/Texas learnt the hard way on Saturday as Inglewood battered them 70-4.
The table-toppers will kick-off at Rugby League Park from 2.30pm.
