Coach Chris Battersby said it was a much tighter game than expected, with the Tigers trailing 14-24 at half time, extending out to 14-30 after the first 10 minutes of the second half.
“The boys then rallied, and we finished up winning 44-30,” Battersby said.
“We had a few out and they had a few players back, but it was probably our fitness that won out in the end.”
Battersby said after the wake-up call the players eventually settled back into a routine and kept the plays simple.
“They just started off a bit complacent and a bit flat after the big win against Inglewood.”
Geoff Swan was named players’ player and Brett Battersby got the three points for man of the match.
Coach Battersby said other standouts were Jarred McIntosh scoring several tries, and Josh Lucas was strong in the middle at lock.
“And Ethan Moore had a great game,” he said.
“It was probably his best of the year.”
The Tigers have a bye this weekend, and play again at home on July 16 when they take on Killarney.
