The Junior Colts started play with Inter dominating early with good field position. Two early goals to the impressive Inter striker Hannah Evans certainly put the pressure on Tenterfield.
As the game progressed the Thunder turned the tables with goals to Peter Thompson and Emma O'Brien. The half time score of two-all has been the best position all season for the new Colts. The second half saw a resurgence from the Inter squad and they capitalised on their scoring opportunities, finally running out winners 4-2.
The Senior Colts again had to rely on four junior Colts and one ladies player to fill the numbers against an experienced Inter team. Locke McCotter made many saves with the gloves in the first 40 minutes and kept the scoreline to 4-0.
Josh Gower and France Dago Oc both had strong games for the Thunder. International ran out winners 7-0.
The Thunder Ladies continued their good run of form with a convincing 5-0 win. The blue and whites started at a fast pace and had plenty of early chances to take the lead. After 10 minutes of constant pressure young Kaitlan Azzopardi directed a powerful shot past the Inter keeper.
A one-nil lead at half time was certainly going to make for an interesting final 35 minutes. After a compilation warm-up the ladies showed renewed energy and continued to play creative football.
Further goals to Bianca Melling, Allana Clancy and Amanda Carpenter helped the team gain a valuable three points.
The Tenterfield Men's team has been working hard for their first win of the season, going close on a number of occasions. As always this matchup is usually a hard fought tussle with flowing end-to-end passages of play.
International scored midway through the first half with a good one-on-one break away. Tenterfield goalkeeper Andrew Stuart who has been superb in goals this season unfortunately picked up a nasty leg injury after colliding with the goalposts. Jayson Murphy did an excellent job with the gloves in the second half and was unlucky not to save Internationals final two goals.
Cassidy Thrift and Kodey McCotter both had great games upfront and were unlucky not to finish off. Final score was 3-nil to Inter.
Next week will be away against Stanthorpe City at CF White Oval. We hope to see all our supporters there.
