Mr Springborg coordinated arrangements through the Wallangarra/Jennings Progress Association (WJPA) after being alerted to the difficulties being felt by the village and beyond after many were left unemployed by the closure.
WJPA’s Brendan Cusack said it’s a good idea that someone in authority should indicate their concern about the situation, although it’s another matter whether they can do anything about it.
From the NSW side of the border community, Tenterfield mayor Peter Petty will be participating along with Tenterfield Shire Council’s strategic planning and environmental service director James Ruprai .Council’s general manager Damien Connor also hopes to attend, depending on other commitments.
The meeting is open to all. It’s at the Wallangarra School of Arts in Rayleigh Street.
