The Tigers' fullback was selected to play against the North Queensland United side in a curtain raiser for an Intrust Super Cup match between the Townsville Blackhawks and the Burleigh Bears.
Although the Outback side suffered a 64 to 18 defeat, McIntosh said he enjoyed the whole experience and couldn't believe it when he was picked in the side.
"I got some new mates and a bit of confidence," he said
"I wasn't expecting it and I was shocked."
Tigers club president Brendan Minns said his selection in the side reflected the team's success this season and believes it will give him a confidence boost heading into the finals series.
"It was a great thing that Jarrod was selected to go further," he said.
"It was excellent for the club because it puts our name out there.
"It was great for Jarrod because he gained some quality experience against some very good opposition."
Back in the regular comp, the Tigers went down 34-42 to Inglewood on Saturday with a poor showing in the second half after leading 24-4 at half-time. This puts a home semi-final at risk, with Tenterfield and Inglewood on equal points and the venue to be determined by for-and-against points.
The Tigers play Stanthorpe/Texas at home this Saturday, and are away at Killarney the following one. They need to win, and win by a good margin.
