Wife Leanne reports that the surgery went well and he is all screwed and pinned together with an external frame, and feeling a lot better.
Mr Paech’s pelvis was broken in four places in the fall. He also has a fractured vertebra and leg.
“Trevor was quite unwell (Sunday) when I arrived here, due to the internal bleeding and pain,” Mrs Paech said.
“They have both under control at the moment.
“Trev will be bed ridden for six weeks then have rehab. Hard for him (as) he is very active and hates sitting around. He's also a truck driver so he won't be able to work for months.”
Mr Paech was thrown from his mount while warming up for a reining competition in Tamworth.
He was initially taken by ambulance to Tamworth Base Hospital before being flown to Newcastle by the Westpac Helicopter Rescue Service.
