The many viewers who visited the Catholic Church Woodenbong were treated to an awesome display, over two days, of over 50 beautifully hand-made knitted or crocheted rugs crafted by locals which adorned pews and railings.

Also an array of scarves and beanies and another aspect was the table of tasteful and exquisite clothing especially made for premature and still born babies which are sent to the Mater Mothers Hospital, Brisbane, and are the work of Mrs Margaret Fletcher, Mrs Betty Young and Mrs Liz Young. The knitted items go to Sister Laverty at Brisbane for distribution through the Baptist Church, Ipswich to “Mission Without Borders”.
A very welcome morning tea was presented and all appreciated the social aspect of the occasion. The organisers wish to thank donors of funds and wool and the wonderful band of ladies efforts and ongoing support.
Rosslyn Johnson, an organiser, received a lovely ‘thank you’ card from Sister Denise Laverty thanking the Woodenbong crafters for their wonderful past and ongoing support, generosity and kindness.
