Rider Darryl Dixon said Monday was their biggest day, setting out from Warwick and travelling 220 kilometres through the Tenterfield Shire to arrive in Glen Innes that evening with a cheque for a Radical-7 Pulse Oximeter valued at $4440 for the local hospital’s maternity ward.
Mr Dixon said the cyclists had enjoyed a police escort from Warwick to the border, and received a lot of support from motorists along way, stopping to make donations.
“One grey nomad just handed over a $100 donation,” he said.
