Getting outside on a glorious day to go biking with friends in pleasant surroundings can be a great boon to mental wellbeing. A group of five riders and five supporters decided to do just that on Sunday as an ode to Mental Health Month, and they didn’t need to go far.

It was a small turnout to an opportunity to bike or stroll along Tenterfield’s bike path which now extends from Millrace Hostel along Tenterfield Creek through a number of public parks, skimming Rugby League Park before passing through Groomsbridge Park and extending up to Saddlers Estate. The group took off just after 11am, enjoyed the four kilometre ride to Groomsbridge Park for a shared morning tea, and then were back to where they started by 12.30pm, many laughs later.
Organiser Gail Galloway from The Hub said the outing ticked all the boxes for a feel good day.
“More people should to it,” she said.
