After a busy day of counting money, Commonwealth Bank staff took to their kitchens to bake batch after batch of pink cupcakes recently to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

It’s an annual affair for the branch, offering cupcakes to customers in return for a donation to breast cancer research. The week culminates in a sausage sizzle outside the branch, temping lunchtime shoppers to the lure of barbecued onions.
The branch managed to raise $620 from their cooking efforts.
According to Cancer Australia, breast cancer remains the most common cancer among Australian women (excluding non-melanoma skin cancer).
Survival rates continue to improve in Australia with 89 out of every 100 women diagnosed with invasive breast cancer now surviving five or more years beyond diagnosis.
October has been designated Australia’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month to provide an opportunity to focus on breast cancer and its impact on those affected.
