Forty motorbikes headed out from Tenterfield on Saturday for the 30th annual toy run. Unusually for the event, it was a dry run with bikers reaching shelter back at Sir Henry Parkes Memorial School before the rains came.

Organiser Wayne Lusty said while he would always like to see more, the run went well and included some new faces, which bodes well for the run’s future.
Donors heeded the call for items for older family members and contributions this year included a wide variety of gifts, and a number of cash donations.
“The community never ceases to amaze me,” he said.
“People just keep giving, the school always comes on board with barbecue facilities and the Lions Club cooked for us.”
It was the first run for Greg Beilby of the Jumbuck Motor Inn, and he said he had a great time.
“I’ve always had a bike, and it was a good opportunity to get out, have a ride and meet a few people.”
