Close to 100 riders travelled from Guyra, Glen Innes, Inverell, Emmaville, Kingstown and Upper Horton to compete in the hacking, sporting and showjumping classes over Saturday and Sunday. Tenterfield club president Jamie O’Neill said there was an even spread of winners from all clubs.
"They all had good competition, the groups were evenly matched and they all had a good time,” he said.
"The main competition between the four clubs that host was won by Inverell and Tenterfield was second.”
Tenterfield Pony Club now turn to hosting the annual Zone 13 Jamboree in January where clubs from all over the zone send riders to compete.
O’Neill said 200 riders are expected.
“The program should be finalised and out in the next week or two,” he said.
"On the Friday there will be dressage, campdrafting and jumping. On the Saturday there will be pairs, fours and riders and then we will start the sporting events.”
For many of the riders, the Jamboree is a step up in competition level from the interclub events.
"It is just a culmination of a year's hard work, going to lots of thing and competing against other towns,” O’Neill said.
"It is a big step up because you go from having four, five different clubs' competitors to 10 clubs that will come to Tenterfield.”
