Fashions on the Field co-ordinator Lindy Stevenson said the committee was grateful to the business community that had shown such fantastic support.
"Major sponsors are Rangers Valley Cattle Station, White Rock Wind Farm, JR & AL Ritchie and Timbs Pharmacy,” Mrs Stevenson said.
“As we are celebrating our 150th anniversary year, we have added a period fashion segment in the hope of attracting entrants that are interested in fashion through the ages.
“There are cash prizes and a trophy for a first, second and third place plus a children’s prize.
“We have classified period fashion as any period in the last 150 years so anticipate a variety of costumes and hem lengths.
“We are also running our usual segments this year, contemporary racewear – female, best dressed gent, most elegant lady and stylish couple.”
This year our judge is seeking outfits that express your own individual sense of style and attitude. A balance of colour and design with a focus on clever co-ordination is desirable.
“In the couples section we seek complementary styling showing personality and balance,” she said. “The focus can be on achieving a simple yet stylish outfit while making a classic statement.”
“We were very impressed with the enormous effort people went to at our 2016 race meet and we hope 2017 will be similar,” Mrs Stevenson said.
“We appreciate that people dress sensibly on what is usually a very hot day and remind punters to be sun smart when choosing what to wear.
“Hats and head ware are very important considerations and the co-ordination of head ware into an overall outfit is a look that may be a winner.”
