Cadbury sell almost a million bars of chocolate every day.
That’s a staggering 350 million bars sold every year.
Chocolate is something that makes us happy.
Perhaps that is why so much of it is consumed.
It puts a smile on our faces.
Did you know that Cadbury was founded in 1824 by John Cadbury in Birmingham in a shop in Bull Street?
The success of the business was not just in the product but in the way that John conducted himself and ran the business.
He looked after his employees much better than other employers did in his time.
Inspired by his Christian faith he build gardens, the factory had a swimming pool, pension plans were introduced, houses were built.
These employees were greatly blessed.
The other form of employment was in coalmines for 15 hours a day.
John lived to not only make a living but to make a difference.
It is in giving and not getting that you become successful and make a difference.
We are all called to live a life that blesses those around us.
We have been given beautiful gifts by God to make a difference in the world that we live in.
God has created us all for a purpose.
You are the only one who can carry out what you were created for.
The world that we live in can be a dark place at times but when people decide that they will live to make a difference in the world, then the light of hope is given and lives are changed.
God’s word reinforces this.
It says in Proverbs 11:25, “The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped.” The Message Bible.
What can you do this week to make a difference in someone’s life?
