Grandparents days, a bus trip and a free concert will also mark the festival, which runs from Friday, March 3, to Sunday, March 12.
“Seniors and retirees play an important part in our community, with many contributing as volunteers,” Tenterfield Seniors Week committee member Christine Sommerlad said.
The organisation is looking for new committee members to steer next year’s festival.
“You don’t have to be a particular age to become a committee member; I started in my 30s,” Ms Sommerlad said.
The committee usually meets several times in the lead up to each annual seniors week, which has been a feature in Tenterfield for at least 34 years.

This year, the fun begins on Saturday with a free concert in Bruxner Park from 10am to about 1pm. A genuine German band will serenade buyers and sellers, along with Josh Moylan, at the market stalls.
On Monday, dietitian and nutritionist Rebecca Everett will offer free food tasting and recipes at the Golf Club between 11.30am and 12.30pm. Lunch costs $12.
Tenterfield High School, Sir Henry Parkes Memorial School and St Joseph’s School will each hold grandparents days on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday respectively.
Grandparents will be treated to bingo and a barbecue at Tenterfield High, with all schools offering classroom visits and refreshments.
On Friday, there will be a Bowling Club Free Concert from 11am; lunch costs $12.
A bus trip to Jam Works at Glen Aplin promises to be fun and tasty; the bus will also travel to Mingoola for lunch. The day out costs $20 and there is a limit of 55 passengers.
Today (March 1) is the last day to book for any of the trips, at Tenterfield Shire Council foyer, in Rouse Street.
If you are interested in becoming a committee member, or for more information on any of the events, phone Ms Sommerlad on 6736 1788 or 0414 263 715.
