The details of workshops to determine how Tenterfield’s Future Towns Fund grant should be invested have now been announced, and the community is encouraged to get involved. The $50,000 will be used to run the workshops and then to implement one key project. The Tilma Group has been appointed to coordinate.

All are invited to be a part of the project by attending one of the two workshops, both in the Banquet Hall at the Tenterfield School of Arts. There is an evening session on Thursday, March 23 from 6-9pm, and a morning session on Friday, March 24 from 6.30-9.30 am. Dinner and breakfast, respectively, will be provided by the Courtyard Café.
Issues to be addressed include whether Tenterfield needs the bypass so it can claim back the main street, whether the development of a flagship festival should be considered, whether a new brand and digital marketing strategy will help reposition Tenterfield and attract more visitors.
The workshops will be hands-on and look at the brand of Tenterfield and the projects and activations that will enhance the town’s liveability and generate increased visitors year-round. Other ideas and suggestions from those that can’t attend can be submitted to the organisers at linda@tilmagroup.com.au.
From this initial phase of workshops, one ‘game changer’ project will be selected and there is budget committed to activate it this year. For catering purposes, RSVP to Tourism Officer Caitlin Reid at c.reid@tenterfield.nsw.gov.au indicating the preferred session.
