Rhonda Rovera said the day raised $1800. Raffle tickets generated $344, and all of that will be donated to the NSW Northern Rivers Flood Appeal. Donations of money and goods are also being accepted at the organisation’s Op Shop in High St.
Fifteen teams of two took to the greens alongside the regular stableford event. Mrs Rovera said the greens were busy but there were few delays. Everyone seemed to enjoy the day and the Golf Club was very supportive.
The remainder of the money raised will be invested in the care and support work the organisation offers locally. Mrs Rovera said there’d been a significant increase in requests over the past 12 months, not so much for accommodation but for food vouchers and other support.
“There are some difficult cases but we’re happy to help and it’s very rewarding.”
