After 12 months of record beef cattle prices the beef industry is in an excellent position.
Record prices have been the norm across all states for all grades of cattle according to Cascade Poll Herefords and Angus manager Jack Smith.
Owned by Karen Arnott and based at Currabubula, Cascade Poll Herefords and Angus will present a team of Angus and Poll Herefords at this year’s on property sale.
“Our 2017 sale bulls have been handed a mixed bag, an extremely hot summer with an unseasonably late autumn but they have able to grow out and look good,” Mr Smith said.
“The bulls will present in good working condition.”
All sale bulls will be semen tested and morphology tested by Brendan Coonan from the Northern Artificial Breeders centre.
“The team of bulls offered on sale day are built on commercial principles: fertile, functional and the ability to fit a variety of market specifications,” Mr Smith said.
“We endeavour to maximise the profitability of your beef enterprise.
“We take great pride in our reputation for quiet cattle. These bulls have had continued contact with people since weaning. The bulls are handled with dogs, utilities and ATVs.”
Leading sires from across Australia, New Zealand and North America were used in the AI and ET programs.
The sale will be held at “Koomoorang”, Currabubula on Wednesday, July 19.
