“I’ve been in discussion with the community members, concerned about the town’s future,” Mr Littleproud said.
“The Wallangarra area has a proud and rich history and I’m keen to hear from and work with the community to see how we can strengthen this important border region into the future.”
The proactive meeting is looking to once again strengthen the local community in the midst of a downturn as Wallangarra/Jennings endures a set-back as a result the local abattoir’s closure, previously the town’s major employer.
“This meeting will bring the community and the local, state and federal governments so we can have an open and honest discussion. We’re looking towards the future and will discuss ideas for future growth and employment,” Mr Littleproud said.
