An open day was held last week to give prospective clients the opportunity to view the 24 bulls – including five blacks – and 19 females on offer.
The apricot coloured females are made up of eight purebred in-calf cows, one cow Lot 32 has a bull calf at foot (born December 25, 2016), four in-calf heifers, four weaner registered purebred heifers, and three purebred commercial heifers.
Six cows are in calf to the stud’s new sire – a homozygous polled bull – Mandayen King K6 that the Bricknells purchased for $29,000 from South Australia in 2016.
The majority of the King Creek herd is now polled.
“We’ve also moved to breeding more black Limousins as that’s what clients are asking for,” Mr Bricknell said.
“Buyers can be assured that the cattle are quiet, structurally sound, every weaner is yard weaned, with performance recordings of, weaning weights, temperament scored and structurally assessed, with those who fail regardless of pedigree are culled.”
All bulls are finished on crop, given Vibrio and 7 in 1 vaccinations, semen and vet checked with adult cows, and bulls, all Pesti Virus tested, with all joined females preg tested, with information on a sub sheet available on sale day.
King Creek Limousins can be found on Facebook, and a catalogue will be available online at the Australian Limousin Breed Society.
