While president Warwick is on holiday, vice-president Bob Rogan again took the chair and was pleased to welcome new members Dean Brauer and Graeme Horn with his HT Holden.

Following the meeting, 26 members in 15 cars travelled to the Soaperie in Ballandean and then to Ballandean Estate Winery before returning to the Wallangarra Railway Cafe for a delicious lunch. Our ladies conducted their monthly luncheon at the Tenterfield Tavern.

On next month’s run it is planned to visit the old rabbit works in Texas.

Members are reminded that our big biennial rally is organised for September 9/10 and they must submit their registration forms as soon as possible.

New members are always welcome but remember your car must be at least 30 years old. Contact vice-president Bob on (02) 6736 5682.

Car of the Month

Model: 1979 HZ Holden

Owner: ‘Flicka’

History: This car was bought by Flicka’s grandparents Steven and Kayleen Thomas so that Flicka could rally with them and be safely restrained. It was a one-owner car from Brisbane and had sat for 23 years under the house.

It has only covered 122,000 kilometres with excellent interior and only minor rust.

Steven has it on club rego and plans to use it on club events.
