All the sale bulls are rigorously selected for fertility, structural soundness, good type and quiet temperament.
The Booroomooka cow herd is unique – according to the Munros – developed since 1926 on hilly native grass country.
Sinclair Munro said this meant that the cows were resilient and adapted to cope with lower quality native grasses and seasonal fluctuations.
“Booroomooka cattle are renowned for resilience, high fertility, outstanding doing ability, good weight gain with high carcass quality,” he said.
Sinclair Munro said buyers have a quality choice of bulls that are leading in growth, calving ease, fertility and carcase traits.
“One hundred and sixty five bulls are better than breed average for calving ease,” he said, “while 216 are better than breed average for growth, 203 are better than breed average for Days to Calving (70 are in the top 10 per cent) and 211 bulls are better than breed average for marbling.”
This year buyers have a large line-up of 53 sons of Emperor. A highly proven trait leading bull, in the top 1 per cent of the breed for $ Profitability.
Other exciting sires of the sale bulls include: EF Complement 8088 (20 sons), PA Full Power (16 sons), Hyperno H605 (29 sons), VAR Reserve (24 sons) and Edmund (13 sons).
Hugh Munro said their commitment to increase marbling and growth has helped increase the demand for Booroomooka progeny.
To help buyers select bulls, an open day will be held on Friday, August 11, from 10am.
The 242 sale bulls will be on display at “Keera”, 5796 Copeton Dam Road, Bingara.
Sinclair said it would be a relaxed day where clients can inspect the bulls and discuss your requirements.
