A caring student with her teachers’ wellbeing in mind has reached out to Regional Australia Bank for support and been rewarded for her efforts.
Bonnie Zappa was among a group of The Sir Henry Parkes Memorial Public School leaders who attended a Grip Student Leadership program at the beginning of term 2, coming home with a plan to thank the school’s teachers with a special morning tea prepared by the students.
That morning tea is scheduled for the last Monday of this term, but Bonnie was concerned that several teachers would never be able to attend as they’d be rostered on duties during recess.
Noting that Regional Australia Bank was giving out sipper cups at the Tenterfield Show earlier this year, the question was asked if the bank could extend its generosity to this project. The bank’s Wendy Stranieri suggested that Bonnie write a formal letter with the proposal, which she duly did..
Bonnie’s letter explained her idea to give the teachers a sipper cup so that they too could enjoy a cuppa at recess and during lunch. This letter was sent to the regional manager who was happy to come on board.
The sipper cups were officially handed over to Bonnie by Danielle Kelly from the Regional Australia Bank at a school assembly on Thursday, August 17.
