Don’t be fooled by the terminology

The first book of the Bible, Genesis, records the account of God creating men and women.

“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it.” (Genesis 1:27-28) Then in Genesis 2 we are told God created the woman as a suitable helper for the man, took her to him and they became united and “one flesh.”

A couple of points to mention here.  Ever since creation, for thousands of years sexuality has been very simple, just as God planned.  Men and women were created to be with each other and were given different sex organs that enabled them to bear children, so the earth would be populated. God created natural sexual attraction between a man and woman and even to this day the vast majority of people experience heterosexual attraction.  God created sex to be enjoyed within the order he created, that is between a man and a woman. Children were an added blessing to make a family complete.

There is not a culture on earth that has lived in a different format to that outlined above - marriage between men and women and children as offspring.  Whilst homosexuality and lesbianism has always existed, it was in the tiny minority and understood as sexual perversion.  So why in the last 40 years or so has there been such a push in Western civilisation to justify a different sexual order?  The simple answer is sin, or to put it another way, rebellion against God’s natural laws.

I appeal to those who read this article not to be fooled by the terminology being broadcast on TV, on  air, in Parliament.  “Marriage equality” is a misnomer. Conditioning through the airways, media, TV, internet has been happening to all of us for the last 40 years.  For those who have children and grandchildren, please consider them when you vote.  Do you want your kids and grandkids to be encouraged or even forced to test out whether they are male or female through the “Safe Schools System”, or to be the subject of criticism for believing in the natural order of male and female relations.  If the definition of marriage is redefined, the floodgates will surely open and every other sexual agenda will be on the table for debate sooner or later.

In closing, this is not an article of hate towards LGBTI people.  God loves everyone equally. Many have chosen that lifestyle because of hurt or abuse in earlier life.  God sees the heart of each person. However, no real joy can come from unnatural relations and they should never hold the title of “marriage” which has always been a holy and sacred union between a man and woman.
