Those with mobility issues can now more easily access Bruxner Park from Rouse St, with works to move the guard rail at the turning point back around 40 centimetres.

The extra space makes it easier for those in wheelchairs and mobility scooters to navigate the turn, as Peter Hickson soon discovered when wheeling mum Einsli down the ramp.
The Hicksons appreciated the upgrade and the new guard rail at the top of the steps leading from the park to street level, although there is still opportunity for runaway wheelchairs or prams to fall down the steps.
Mr Hickson said he also finds the steps themselves to be excessively steep with a shallow tread.
